I'm Sohrab Jahromi, the founder and one of the spirited Big Golf Tour Directors guiding you through the majestic world of golf. My journey with The Big Journey Company began 16 years ago, fueled by a passion for exploration and a bit of serendipity that transformed my extensive travel and IT background into a calling.

From Tech Traveller to Trailblazing Founder

My early career took me around the world, teaching Business IT and Telecoms, which not only satisfied my wanderlust but also gave me a unique perspective on the diverse cultures and landscapes this planet has to offer. It was during one of these adventures that I experienced an epiphany—or, as some might say, a mid-life crisis—that redirected my path towards creating unforgettable travel experiences for others. This revelation led to the founding of The Big Journey Company, and subsequently, The Big Golf Company, where I've dedicated myself to sharing the world's wonders with fellow explorers.

Beyond the Office: A Passion for the Great Outdoors

When not leading our golfing tours or strategizing in the office, I'm embracing the natural beauty of my home, the English Lake District. Whether scaling a fell or paddling through the serene waters in a canoe, my love for the outdoors knows no bounds. These moments of tranquility amidst nature's splendor are a constant source of inspiration and renewal.

Among the countless courses I've had the pleasure to play, Silloth on Solway Golf Club, nestled in the Lake District, holds a special place in my heart. Its challenging layout and the stunning backdrop of my home region offer a golfing experience that is both invigorating and deeply personal.
